NEW YORK—Silverstein Properties held a ceremonial groundbreaking on its 82-story residential tower in Tribeca on Dec. 3. At 926-feet, it will be the tallest residential building in downtown Manhattan.
The building, located at Park Place and Church Street, was formerly known as 99 Church St. and was rebranded as 30 Park Place. The lot sat vacant from 2008 until earlier this year, as plans were stalled due to the financial crisis.
The limestone tower will feature a Four Seasons hotel, a restaurant, a public plaza, and private residences. Robert A. M. Stern will be designing the interiors and floor plans of the private residences, and designer Yabu Pushelberg will work on the hotel interiors. SLCE Architects is listed as the architect-of-record for the building.
The tower will include 185 luxury hotel rooms operated by Four Seasons in the first 38 floors of the building, including the restaurant. Another 157 Four Seasons branded private residences will fill the rest of the building, with 1–6 bedroom units and full-floor penthouses.
According to BuzzBuzzHome sales will launch next April.
The Wall Street Journal reported Silverstein secured $660 million in construction financing earlier this year. The developer obtained building permits in October.
