Sandra Bullock stepped back into the limelight to accept an award on Spike TV over the weekend. Her time on camera marked her first public appearance since a highly publicized separation from husband Jesse James.
Bullock made an appearance on Spike TV during the channels “Guys’ Choice” award show Saturday.
The actress was awarded the “Troops Choice” award after being voted as the most popular actress among military viewers that participated in the polling.
Robert Downey Jr. presented Bullock with the award, generating a standing ovation from the audience, reported Entertainment Weekly.
“Let’s be honest here, just for a moment. We’re all going to be honest, right? Did I win this for being entertainer of the year, or did I win this because of the spectacular I.E.D. (improvised explosive device) explosion that became my personal life?” asked Bullock on Spike TV.
Bullock is married to television personality and motorcycle production specialist Jesse James. The couple not only separated but recently adopted a child before the split, making the change very difficult for Bullock.
Bullocks’ professional life has flourished despite her marital problems. Bullock won an Academy Award last year for her part in The Blind Side and is expected to make another appearance on MTV Sunday.
