Samsung is rolling out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update in a number of countries for different devices, and Android 4.4.4 KitKat and Android 4.4.3 KitKat update is finally available in some places.
Unlike a number of its other competitors, Samsung has not announced that it is bringing the Android 4.4.3 KitKat and Android 4.4.4 KitKat updates to its phones, even though the patches have been out for some time.
The upcoming Galaxy Alpha will be running on Android 4.4.4 KitKat, however, according to official information from Samsung.
It is unclear if the Galaxy Note 4, which should be unveiled at at Unpacked event on September 3, will run on Android 4.4.3 KitKat or Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
Also, some carriers in the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada will be rolling out the Android 4.4.3 KitKat and the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update for some phone models.
Optus notes on its site that an Android 4.4.4 KitKat update for the Galaxy S5 has been approved, and could be available “within the coming days.”
The European Galaxy S5 LTE-A model will also get an Android 4.4.4 KitKat update in the United Kingdom.
Finally, Rogers in Canada lists the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update as being available for the Note 3 and Galaxy S4, and that the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update for the Galaxy Mega, Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy S3 Mini, and Galaxy Note 8.0 is “coming soon.”
