Ronni Chasen, the famed publicist who was killed on Tuesday morning, may have been shot from another car, according to ABC News.
Authorities have virtually no leads about why she was shot and the case still remains a mystery. However, police say they suspect that she was shot from a moving vehicle.
She was driving home in her Mercedes Benz E-class from the premier of Burlesque on Monday night, when she was killed.
“It’s wide open at this point,” Beverly Hills Police Lt. Tony Lee told People magazine. “We’ve got a whole team of detectives on this 24/7. There’s no suspects, no motive at this point. It could be more than one suspect for all we know. Search warrants were executed on her home and business. I can tell you that no stone will be left unturned.”
The Associated Press reported that police found pieces of glass near the shooting site but found no bullet casings, which would likely have been present if the shooter fired at her from the street. Authorities said that the gunmen may have been in an SUV due to the angle of the shots.
Chasen had “no known enemies. But that’s all part of what we’re looking at. These are all a real possibilities,” Lee told People.
Her death has shocked the community of Beverly Hills, and a film festival that she was associated with before her death is offering $100,000 in reward money for any information about her death, The Epoch Times reported previously.
Chasen was known as an adept publicist in Hollywood, capable of generating Oscar buzz for her clients. Movies she worked on that won Oscars include 1989’s Driving Miss Daisy and last year’s Best Picture winner The Hurt Locker.
