Randy Moss, 33, started his career with the Minnesota Vikings and may end it there, according to media reports on Wednesday that said the All-Pro wide receiver was traded to Minnesota by the New England Patriots.
ESPN first reported the trade but neither team has confirmed the transaction.
The Patriots will receive a third round draft pick in the deal, EPSN said.
The Vikings receiving corps has been hurting with Sidney Rice injured and Percy Harvin suffering from recurring migraines. With the acquisition of Moss, quarerback Brett Favre gets a future Hall of Fame wideout that he can consistently depend upon.
Moss was drafted by the Vikings in 1998 and has become one of the NFL’s top receivers. In 12 seasons, Moss has caught 935 passes for 14,604 yards and 151 touchdowns. His 151 TD receptions are second only to the great Jerry Rice (197)
After spending seven seasons with the Vikings, he was traded to the Oakland Raiders, but didn’t produce great numbers there, as the Raiders were a team in transition without an established quarterback. In 2007, the Patriots acquired him.
When he was first dealt to the Patriots, Moss caught an all-time record of 23 touchdown passes in one season with Tom Brady leading the offense.
