Idaho police are searching for 37-year-old Jason “Travis” Simon, who currently has an arrest warrant out for sexual abuse of a child.
Simon is believed to be with girlfriend, Sarah Joy VanOcker-Dunn, and three children between the ages of 6 and 10. One of the three children is biologically Simon’s and one of them is believed to be the victim from the sexual abuse charge.
The five went missing on June 2.
A third party had informed the sheriff’s office and provided evidence that Simon was creating child pornography.
It appears the couple became aware of the investigation and arrest warrant, and fled the home with the children on June 2.
Investigators say Simon is trying to avoid arrest and could be camping in the Sweet County, Ola County, or Valley County areas with VanOcker-Dunn—who now has an active arrest warrant for custody interference—a felony.
The Ada County Sheriff’s Office said there have been a number of tips and leads, but have not been able to locate the couple or the children.
The group may now be in Northern California—Travis, was spotted at a Burger King in Fortuna, Calif., on June 8, and Dunn at an ATM in nearby Eureka earlier in the day, according to the Independent Journal.
The couple is known to have camping gear with them, and are possibly armed.
It’s believed they are traveling in a gold 2006 Pontiac Montana sports utility vehicle with Idaho license plate number: 2CJN683.
They may be headed toward Portland, from the Oregon-Idaho border direction.
