Walking in from a cold night into a bar awash in old Irish sounds feels akin to entering a mythical landscape of grassy hills.

The Swift Hibernian Lounge in Noho has featured live Irish music every Tuesday night for the past 19 years, the longest continuous “session” in the city. In the Irish tradition, a session refers to a regularly scheduled jam session of folk music.

Swift Hibernian Lounge keeps to a high musical standard. The sessions feature a diverse crowd of musicians renowned in the folk music community, including fiddler Tony DeMarco, flutist Kevin Crawford, and harpist Maeve Gilchrist.
