The hit CMT show Party Down South wraps up season 2 on August 28 and fans are wondering whether the series will be renewed or canceled.

The network hasn’t made an official announcement yet but cast members have been spotted filming in a new location over the summer.

While season 2 was set in Athens, Georgia, multiple media outlets reported in July that the cast was spotted filming on the Mississippi Golf Coast.

Gulf Live said in a report on July 1 that the show began filming on the coast a couple of weeks ago, and production had already taken place at locations such as Stagecoach Lounge just north of Ocean Springs, Biloxi beach and at the large, two-story home the production company rented for the cast in a secluded subdivision in North Biloxi.

Ocean Springs resident Amy Byrd said that she saw the filming in the parking lot of Stagecoach Lounge and was taking pictures, noting that “they call it ’reality' TV, but you could tell it’s all fake.”

The outlet noted that it received a statement from 495 Productions, which produces the show. “We have appreciated the welcome that Ocean Springs has showed us thus far. We are truly looking forward to filming there, being a great partner and bringing economical gain to the community,” the statement said.

WLOX-TV reported in late June that the cast was on the beach in Biloxi wearing t-shirts from the Biloxi Beach Company, and were also spotted in St. Martin.

Locals said, unlike in the prior seasons, the cast seemed well-behaved. “They have been very respectful,” Terri Mason said. “We don’t hear anything from them.”

Meanwhile, TMZ broke the story earlier this month that Taylor ‘Lil Bit’ Wright quit the show because she feared for her safety with all the craziness on the show, and she also felt the show undermined her strong religious beliefs.

Lil Bit later confirmed the news via Twitter.

The rest of the cast signed contracts to return for season 3.

Producers were searching for a replacement for Lil Bit, though they may have found one by now.
