Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two men wanted for allegedly impersonating police officers and sexually assaulting a woman in Chelsea back in February, according to a written statement by the NYPD’s Office of the Deputy Commissioner for Public Information (DCPI).

While riding in a red, black-soft-top Camaro, the two unknown males signaled a 67-year-old woman to stop her vehicle in front of 345 W. 16th St. at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 29, according to the statement.

After moving her to another location, the men sexually assaulted her and stole her purse.

When she complied, the men approached her, identifying themselves as police officers, the statement said.

After moving her to another location, the men sexually assaulted her and stole her purse, containing $135 in cash and a Samsung tablet—before fleeing eastbound on W. 16th St. in the Camaro, according to the statement.
