Mark Wahlberg may take on the the lead role in a remake of the comic book movie The Crow, according to an Entertainment Weekly report this week.

Wahlberg is talking with Relativity Media but no offer has been made yet, the report said.

The original movie starred Brandon Lee, who was killed on set while filming the 1994 movie released in 1994, and gained a cult following. A sequel called The Crow: City of Angels was subsequently released in 1996 and since has spawned two more movies one in 2001, and the other in 2005.

The movie is set to be filmed by Blade director Stephen Norrington and the script is undergoing modifications by musician Nick Cave, according to MTV News.
