Police are trying to find the man who has been firing shots at cars along Interstate 96 in Michigan. The suspect, who has been dubbed the “highway sniper” by the media, has been tied to at least 24 shootings.
A man shot Saturday is the first person injured in the shootings. He is now in stable condition.
Livingston County Sheriff Bob Bezotte told the local Livingston Daily that a man was shot while he was traveling to Detroit to attend the World Series at Comerica Park Saturday.
“We need the public’s help more than ever now,” Bezotte was quoted as saying. “We now have a victim that’s been shot.”
Earlier in the day Saturday two shots were fired into a vehicle and fortunately no one was injured, reported local station WDIV.
Police think that only one man is behind all the shootings and that he is using a handgun, according to the Daily.
