Any situation where your hands get zip-tied together must not be a good one for sure! If the plastic cord is fastened tightly, your wrist mobility is limited, and any movement can start grazing your skin painfully. What do you do in that situation?

Thankfully, here’s a video that demonstrates how easy it is to escape from zip ties using shoelaces. Hopefully, you never get stuck in this situation!

In this video, the presenter already has his hands bound with a zip tie.

In order to escape from the plastic shackles, the presenter first unties the shoelaces from both his feet.

Next, he uses the end dangles of the shoelaces to insert it through the zip tie into his hands.

He then takes one end of a shoelace then grabs a shoelace end from the other shoe and ties both ends together tightly in a knot.

This is where the cool part unveils.

Drawing the laces tight by raising his arms, he starts to move both legs up and down, using the shoelaces to saw through the zip tie. In a matter of seconds, the plastic zip tie breaks apart.

Isn’t that amazing?

It does look pretty cool.

This simple yet potentially life-saving hack can not only help any adult but also a child who is stuck in a dangerous situation.

And guess what? It takes only less than 60 seconds to free yourself.

Though there are many other ways to break free from zip ties like using your hands as a hammer, if you don’t have the strength for it, then this alternative method can surely come in handy.

Zip ties are one of the most useful items in a survival kit and can come across as handy while fastening things during emergencies, yet they can also be used by invaders or kidnappers to restrain potential victims.

As handcuffs are usually hard to acquire, kidnappers resort to plastic zip ties to keep victims restrained.
