TORONTO—At the press conference for “Cake,” this Tuesday September 9, 2014, actress Jennifer Aniston talked about portraying a cynical Claire Simmons who obsessed about the suicide of a woman from her chronic pain support group.

For the film, Aniston had to undergo a lot of physical transformation including having fake scars planted all over her face an body.

“I let myself fall apart, physically,” Aniston said during the press conference at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

Although it was a challenging role physically and mentally, Aniston said that when she went home she din’t bring the character into her house.

“When I went home, I went home. I hugged my dogs and I hugged my fiancé, and I just went to bed,” she said.

Aniston’s Fiancé, Justin Theroux is also shooting “The Leftovers” TV series, which also deals with a themes of grief, but the two actors didn’t discuss their roles in the private of their home.

“We don’t talk a lot about grief at home,” Aniston said. “Justin is probably one of the funniest human being that I have ever encountered, and so I have the great fortune to laugh. A lot,” she said.

“We laugh a lot,” Jennifer Aniston said.

But this physical transformation, more than anything left the director of the film, Daniel Barnz in awe of the actress’ capabilities.

“I had been staring at Jen’s face for months now in the editing room and for me it was just an extraordinary experience of seeing someone who really is one of the most beautiful women in the world without a stitch of make-up on, and somehow in this film I think because of the beauty that comes from the inside, I’ve never found you more beautiful,” Barnz said.

To which Aniston replied with: “Let’s get married.”

“OK,” Barnz said, “Do you want to tell Justin or should I tell Justin?”

“He'll be OK with it,” Aniston replied.
