Jeb Bush, the former Republican governor of Florida, emphatically said he would not consider being a vice presidential candidate for Mitt Romney or anyone else.
“That doesn’t mean I don’t have a voice. Doesn’t mean I don’t [want to] enthusiastically support Mitt Romney. I intend to do that. I’m doing it. But I’m not gonna be a candidate with him,” Bush told “CBS This Morning” on Thursday.
Bush, who is the brother of former President George W. Bush, has been considered a good potential vice presidential candidate.
Romney, said Bush in the interview, has “a great list of candidates that I’m sure he’s thinking about.” He added, “He'll pick somebody that will be very capable to be president and to help him in the election.”
Bush has publicly praised Sen. Marco Rubio, a Republican from Florida, as a potential candidate for vice president.
