James Harrison rumors: Longtime Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison reportedly signed with the Cincinnati Bengals.
“Whodey!!!!!!!!!!! Hello Cincinnati!!!!” Harrison tweeted on Friday afternoon.
ESPN reported that Harrison signed to the Bengals, a fellow AFC North rival, on Friday for an undisclosed amount of money.
“Any time you can get James Harrison on your team, it’s a great day,” Bill Parise, Harrison’s agent, told The Cincinnati Enquirer.
The newspaper reported that Harrison signed a two-year contract with the team.
There were rumors that Harrison and Bengals could not see eye to eye on a potential deal, but those apparently were dispelled.
“He would fit right in over here. One of the things I like about him is he brings that intensity and swagger to the defense,” defensive tackle Domata Peko told the Enquirer. “Whenever I watch him play he is knocking people’s heads off. That’s what you want on that team. With Michael Johnson, Carlos Dunlap and Geno Atkins, those are a lot of playmakers out there and to add someone like Harrison would be awesome for us.”
Harrison missed three games during the 2012 season with Pittsburgh with a knee injury but he performed well in the second half of the season, according to ESPN.
He finished with six sacks and got two forced fumbles during the season.
