James Franco and Danny Boyle’s latest film 127 Hours, in which Franco stars as rock climber Aron Ralston, released its teaser trailer this week.
Boyle is looking to follow up the critical and commercial success that he garnered when he directed Slumdog Millionaire and Sunshine.
The film is based on the true story of rock climber Aron Ralston and his near-death experience.
Ralston in 2003 had to sever the lower part of his arm in order to free himself from a boulder he was trapped under while mountaineering in Utah.
He spent around five days trapped underneath the boulder and could not even slightly free his arm, forcing him to amputate it with a dull blade on his multi-use tool.
The movie documents his experiences up until that point and ultimately, his life-changing decision.
After losing his arm, he still frequently climbs mountains.
