Honda Motor Company issued a massive automobile recall on Tuesday that includes thousands of Odyssey and Element model vehicles. The recall is worldwide.
Honda posted a report on its Web site stating that it is recalling 344,000 Odyssey model vehicles as well as 68,000 Element model vehicles. The company’s main concern is centered around the dysfunctional brake pedals that were installed on the specified models.
Honda said that the Vehicle Stability Assistance (VSA) modulators that are connected to the brake pedals were taking in small amounts of unneeded air, causing the pedals to slowly drop to the floor boards. In its official report, Honda stated that not all vehicles that are being recalled are affected by the VSA issue but they still needed to be recalled.
Honda has asked owners of recalled vehicles to take them to a local Honda dealership for inspection as soon as possible. The company said that it would begin calling car owners directly to make arrangements for repair at the end of April. Honda owners who are affected by the recall are encouraged to visit www.recalls.honda.com to find out more about the recalls.
