Girl Tweets Photo of Boyfriend Who Looks Just Like Michael Jackson, Twitter Goes Crazy

Wouldn’t it be great if you got to date a special someone who is also the spitting image of a world-famous celebrity? Twitter user Lourdes Zavaleta had all her friends and even strangers gobsmacked and starstruck when she posted a photo of her boyfriend, who bears a stunning resemblance to Michael Jackson, The King of Pop!

“Y'all my man is so cute, look at the selfie he just sent me,” the then-21-year-old Zavaleta, known on Twitter as Gossip Grill, tweeted back in 2017, followed by two heart-shaped-eyes emojis alongside the photo.

The image of Zavaleta’s “boyfriend” sitting in his car in a baseball cap left her friends and many social media users spellbound. Going widely viral, the photo of her latest beau captivated netizens’ imaginations as he is the absolute spitting image of Michael Jackson in his post-“Thriller” era.

Netizens went gaga over it, bombarding Zavaleta with cheeky comments, pulling puns from Jackson’s songs, such as Smooth Criminal and They Don’t Care About Us, in good fun.

“Does he rock with you all night?” one Twitter user quipped.

Another joked, “Sis you dating the king of pop.”

“More pictures of your man please!!” another said gleefully.

Another naively asked, “Michael Jackson still alive?”

But after all the hubbub, Twitter comedian Zavaleta had a huge confession to make to everyone: It was merely a joke between friends—the man in the photo was not her boyfriend.

“Unfortunately, he’s not actually my man. I found his picture on Twitter,” Zavaleta confessed to MailOnline. “The post was just a joke between my friends and me. I posted the picture to be funny and I didn’t think so many people would see it and believe it.”

Actually, Zavaleta had no idea who the man in the photo was. She happened to stumble upon the photo online. Little did she expect this simple gibe with a few friends would explode into such a Twitter fiasco!

Who’s that Michael Jackson’s doppelganger then? It turned out that the man was a Spanish musician and Michael Jackson impersonator named Sergio Cortes, who can sing and dance like the superstar.

As a Michael Jackson impersonator, Sergio Cortes dolls himself up to look exactly like the world-famous pop icon. He travels the world and had toured in South America for his Tribute show to the late King of Pop.

“It’s really cool that so many people are finding this funny since it was supposed to just be a joke between me and my friends. All of the replies have been so hilarious,” wrote Zavaleta in her tweet.

“Also I kind of feel like a troll since some people actually believed that I was dating the guy, but I’ve just been going with it,” she said concerning her trickery.

However, the enormous response proves that the late Michael Jackson still remains in the hearts of many people a decade after his death on June 25, 2009.

“It’s nice to know that so many people still care for and love Michael Jackson,” she added.
