Actress Freida Pinto, known for her role in Slumdog Millionaire, recently landed a new role in a feature film as her popularity in Hollywood increases.

Pinto had her breakthrough role in the 2008 box-office hit Slumdog Millionaire. Now she is set to appear in a prequel for the classic film Planet Of The Apes, entitled Rise Of The Apes. She will play a scientist in the film which also stars James Franco, known for his roles in the Spider Man trilogy and Pineapple Express.

There has also been Hollywood rumors that Pinto could play a part in the next James Bond film, reported ShowbizSpy.com.

Pinto was virtually unknown as an actress before her role in Slumdog Millionaire but did do some work as a print model. The actress addressed the rumors of her being in the upcoming James Bond film to her fans on her website.

“I have already issued an official statement that I have not been approached for the next Bond film opposite Daniel Craig as yet. The rumors are of course flattering but for the moment my projects for 2010 – 2011 include Julian Schnabel’s Miral, Woody Allen’s You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger and Tarsem Singh’s Immortals,” said Pinto

3rd Rock From The Sun’s John Lithgow would also be in Rise Of The Apes with Rupert Wyatt as the director. The cast and crew will start filming in British Columbia in July.
