Elvira is slated to appear on television soon after spending decades off the air.

Cassandra Peterson, who was the original star, will reprise her role as the goth queen, according to TheLantern.com on Wednesday. The show will run for 26 episodes on the CW network on Fridays at 3 a.m.

The first show, titled Elvira’s Movie Macabre, aired from 1981 to 1990 and showed horror films with comments by the host.

She told the TheLantern.com that she attempted to bring back the show but to no avail.

“I decided to come back to TV 20 years ago, but nobody wanted to do the show,” Peterson said.

Peterson, 59, said that her show was the forerunner to the comedy spoof movies Mystery Science Theater 300. “I’m coming back to take their slot,” she added.

Peterson also made appearances in movies and television like Pee-wee’s Big Adventure in 1985 and on Space Ghost in 1996.
