Microsoft on Thursday finally released a product that some Mac owners may have been waiting for: its Office for Mac 2016 collection of apps. And the best part? It’s completely free! The only downside, depending on how you look at it, is that it’s only a beta version of Microsoft’s productivity suite.

Office for Mac 2016 is, unsurprisingly, optimized for Mac use, and Microsoft says the user interface has been designed from the ground up to take advantage of the latest Mac features, such as Retina display support (on some devices) and full-screen view.
Additionally, Office for Mac 2016 also comes with deep cloud integration, including OneDrive, OneDrive for Business and SharePoint.
The beta measures a hefty 2.5GB and will require additional space on your hard drive. What you get is access to the latest versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Outlook, all into one nifty package.
