A newborn baby was found at a crash site, where both his parents died when their motorbike was hit by a truck in east China.

The accident happened in Xiamen, Fujian Province, on Tuesday morning, as the father was driving his pregnant wife to hospital to give birth, Dongnan News reported.

The couple were killed by the collision, but their son was born. One witness said the woman gave birth straight after the accident, while others said the baby was thrown out of her belly to a spot around 3 yards away, according to state media the Global Times.

The baby was taken to Haicang hospital with the placenta still attached. He weighed around 9 pounds, and had bruising on his face, and limbs.

The boy is now in a stable condition, and some local people have visited to donate diapers, clothes, and milk powder. Netizens dubbed him a “miracle baby,” and many said they hoped he would have a good life.

The parents were from Sichuan Province, and may have been migrant workers. The baby’s uncle has expressed that he is willing to adopt the child.
