Recognizing the uncertainty of the vaccines’ effectiveness, side effects, and people’s unwillingness to be vaccinated, most of the experts still suggested everyone be vaccinated as soon as possible.
Thomas Frieden, former director of the U.S. CDC asked: “How long will [vaccine-induced] immunity last? How rare are serious adverse effects [of COVID-19 vaccines]? … Will people trust the vaccine?” These questions have no answer so far.
Zhong, who believes the CCP virus will keep on mutating and exist in the world like influenza, urged the pharmaceutical businesses and medical world: “Modified vaccines and cocktail antibodies are emergent.” He said they are the most effective COVID-19 treatments so far.
Pandemic
Gao, Zhong, and Wu are the three top COVID-19 experts in China. Their opinions have been promoted by Chinese state-run media since the first CCP virus outbreak in Wuhan city, central China’s Hubei Province, back to January 2020.Gao said in his speech that there are too many unknowns about the CCP virus, and the Chinese CDC has to deal with the pandemic based on common sense and knowledge, such as the best prevention methods should be 3Ws: wearing a mask, watching distance, and washing hands.
Gao hoped the vaccine can end the outbreak in the coming summer or next year.
However, Zhong and Wu disagreed with him. Wu questioned the efficiency of the vaccine and Zhong worried about the newly appeared variants.
“It’s almost impossible to eliminate the pandemic in a short time,” Wu said.
Zhong said, “The mutated COVID-19 viruses decreased the effectiveness of vaccination, and also decreased the effectiveness of antibody treatment.”
Zhong even believes that a mutated CCP virus will cause a new pandemic wave around the world.
Vaccination
The Chinese experts at the conference said they trust the emergency use approved vaccines no matter where the vaccines are from. They said they believe these vaccines can prevent the outbreak of the current pandemic. In fact, the Chinese regime asked Chinese people to be vaccinated as far back as last summer.
However, only a few Chinese have been vaccinated after eight months. Zhong presented a set of numbers at Monday’s conference revealing the current status.
For the raw number of vaccines that each country has received for its citizens, the United States leads the world, with 72.81 million doses on Feb. 27.
For the number of COVID-19 vaccination doses available per 100 people, Israel had 92.46 percent and was the leader as of last Saturday.
“China only has 3.56 [COVID-19 vaccination doses available per 100 people on Feb. 28],” Zhong said. “The United States had 22 [on Feb. 27].”
