Bristol Palin has been the fan favorite on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, but there has been some speculation that the votes she got were not valid.
The rigging speculation emerged when Palin, who at times has received poor scores from the show’s judges, kept getting voted back on by fans.
MSNBC reported that some votes are politically motivated. She is the daughter of former Alaska Governor and Tea Party supporter Sarah Palin.
“Lord have mercy, I voted for 3 hours online! I got 300 in,” a Palin fan said on the HillBuzz blog. Another user said, “you put me to shame with my measly 32.”

Entertainment Weekly interviewed Dancing executive producer Conrad Green, who said that when people submit votes via text messages, phone, or email, “there are tons of checks done” to ensure that there is no vote-rigging.
Green noted that there are sometimes excessive votes coming from multiple email accounts with a single IP address.
“These things can happen for any of our contestants. It’s not like only Bristol’s fans could do that. It could just as easily be happening for Jennifer [Grey]’s or for someone else’s,” he said. “But either way, those excessive votes are not being counted.”
