Points won for the first time in his career, closing with a 5-under par 67, according to PGA’s website.
“Pebble Beach may be the most iconic place in America to play golf, and to win here, it’s just a dream come true,” Points said, according to The Associated Press.
Murray, who played Carl Spackler in the iconic golf comedy Caddyshack, won another pro-am tournament in the past during the Champions Tour.
“I’m thinking of turning pro,” Murray joked, according to AP. “I probably won’t. It’s really nice to play with a gentleman.”
The actor praised his professional golf partner on his game and his courteousness.
Points “really won the tournament. All I did was sort of contribute when he kind of didn’t have a great hole,” Murray said. “He’s a good person. He’s from Illinois. He’s Lincoln-esque in stature and unfailingly polite.”
