Bacon-shell tacos, or “Bacos,” will be served at West Michigan Whitecaps games. The bacon-shelled tacos got first-place in an annual fan vote.
A minor-league baseball team in Michigan has introduced a item that will make one either salivate with delight or cringe in terror: Tacos with shells made out of bacon.
The tacos will be offered at West Michigan Whitecaps games at Fifth Third Ballpark, the team’s website said. The bacon taco, known as a “Baco,” got the most votes in the Whitecaps yearly food contest.
“The Baco received a staggering 30% of the online votes,” reads a press release from the Whitecaps. The team said it “narrowed a list” of over 150 items submitted by fans.
The second-place item was the Bad Joke, which consists of a corn dog covered in cheese—and yes—two strips of duck bacon. It is served in a bun.
The third-place food item was the Rascal Chow comprised of popcorn, Reeses, and you guessed it: bacon. But it was in a “virtual tie” with Teeny Weenies, which are hot dogs in small helmets, according to Sports Illustrated.
