A 6-year-old girl is being called a hero after she rescued several ducklings from a drainpipe.

Skye Rabii and daughter Mia, who live in the Southern California city of Laguna Niguel, had walked out of a doctor’s office and were approached by a woman asking for help.

“She had found the mama duck, with only one duckling, looking distressed,” Rabii said Monday, April 18, according to the Orange County Register. “It didn’t look right, since ducks have 10, 12 ducklings at a time.”

I can do it.

The woman had found nine other ducklings at the bottom of a pipe that wasn’t covered.

“I reminded Mia that she said she always wanted to be a veterinarian,” Rabii said. “She said, ‘I can do it,’ and reached down the pipe up to her shoulders and pulled out eight ducklings, one at a time.”

In the clip, Mia can be seen placing her small arms in the pipe before pulling out the ducks.

“She walked them all to the mama duck who was so relieved,” Rabii told Inside Edition. “The father duck was standing by, not moving, until he saw his whole family.”

A property management company then capped the drain pipe.

“The exciting thing was that [the property management] found two more ducklings alive that must have wandered further down the pipe,” Rabii told the news outlet. “We didn’t know they were there and happily, they were rescued too.”
