Anastacia cancer: The 44-year-old singer revealed that she was again diagnosed with breast cancer, forcing the cancellation of her upcoming tour.
Pop star Anastacia on Thursday had to cancel a performance in Dubai and her upcoming European tour, saying she was diagnosed with breast cancer a second time.
Anastacia, 44, overcame a battle with the disease in 2003.
“Consequently she has been forced to cancel all performances, tours and any travel from now until further notice,” reads a statement posted on her official Facebook page.
Anastacia said she feels “so awful to be letting down all my amazing fans who were looking forward to” her upcoming tour, the statement reads. She added, “It just breaks my heart to disappoint them.” Her European tour was slated to begin April 6.
The singer, born Anastacia Lyn Newkirk in Chicago, said she will continue to work on her upcoming album despite the cancer diagnosis.
“A born survivor, Anastacia has one goal and that is to make a full recovery with the support of her family, friends and everyone around her,” the statement said.
Anastacia has had multi-platinum sales in Europe, Australia, and in other countries, but only minor success in her native United States.
