Two suspects took several pairs of shoes belonging to a group of juveniles after following them into a restroom at the Irvine Spectrum Center in Southern California, on June 26, the Irvine Police Department reported on June 28.
Cameras outside of the restroom caught the two suspects running out of the bathroom after following the four juveniles inside at 9:22 p.m. In the video, one of the suspects displayed a black handgun, but it wasn’t fired, according to the department.
The suspects demanded the victims’ shoes and were able to flee with three pairs of shoes and a baseball hat. One of the juveniles was able to escape the bathroom before anything was taken from him, said authorities.
Police described the first suspect as a Hispanic male between the ages of 15 and 20. He is approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall, and 150 pounds. During the robbery, he was wearing a black baseball cap, gray tank top, black pants, black fanny pack, and white shoes, and was carrying a handgun.
The other suspect was described by police as another male Hispanic, also between 15 and 20 years old, 5 feet and 8 inches tall, with black hair, and wearing a black shirt, baggy grey pants, and white shoes.
Additional surveillance camera footage gathered by police shows the two suspects walking through a parking garage carrying the stolen items.
Police are investigating the situation and have released the video footage of the incident hoping to get help from the public in identifying the two robbery suspects, according to the Irvine Police Department.
