U.S. governors and lawmakers across the aisle paid tribune to Falun Gong’s contribution to their communities while recognizing May 13 as Falun Dafa Day.
‘This cowardly act was clearly instigated by the CCP, which has been exporting its domestic repression overseas,’ Falun Dafa Information Center spokesman said.
US officials said they are ‘troubled and saddened’ to hear of the Moscow police raid and ‘deeply concerned’ about the persecution of Falun Gong globally.
‘We are concerned about this whether it happens in China or Russia or elsewhere in the world,' a White House National Security Council spokesperson said.
Less than three months after the appeal, on July 20, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party launched the brutal persecution of Falun Gong adherents across China.
About 10,000 people congregated in Beijing on a spring day in 1999, in one of the largest protests in China’s recent history—known as the April 25 appeal.
