Canada’s 157th birthday is coming up and one of the best ways to celebrate is with a fireworks show. Here’s where you can catch the best pyrotechnics in and around Canada’s major cities.

Toronto

The majority of daytime Canada Day festivities will be held at Thomson Memorial Park and city museums, with GTA park firework shows at Ashbridges Bay, Centennial Park (Etobicoke), and Milliken Park. Displays start at 10 p.m.
Downsview Park in North York will also host a fireworks show on Canada Day, one of only two the community holds each year—the other being Victoria Day.
East York has its 68th annual fireworks celebration planned for Canada Day. Fireworks start at 10 p.m. in Stan Wadlow Park following a day of family-filled fun.

Ottawa

In Canada’s Capital Region, the sky will light up with the Tim Hortons Canada Day Fireworks show at LeBreton Flats Park. The show will run from 10 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. and there are several places to watch, including along the streets surrounding the park.
Family-friendly Canada Day celebrations and fireworks will also be held at the Rideau Carleton Casino where the Northern Pikes will perform prior to the fireworks show. The performance starts at 8 p.m. Over 2,500 people attended the casino’s Victoria Day fireworks, and organizers said they expect more for Canada Day. Parking is free at the casino.

Niagara Falls

Canada’s iconic waterfalls will sparkle under the Canada Day fireworks, which begin at 10 p.m. The waterfalls will also be illuminated in red and white to celebrate the country’s big day.

Winnipeg

The city’s Blue Bombers football team is promoting the Canada Day celebrations at Princess Auto Stadium. The free family event includes a fireworks show at dusk.
Just northeast of Winnipeg, the community of Selkirk will also host a Canada Day celebration along with fireworks, which start at 11 p.m.

Edmonton

The city’s official Canada Day Fireworks begin at 11 p.m. in the River Valley that runs over the North Saskatchewan River. Some of the best places to watch include Queen Elizabeth Park, River Valley Road Trail, Victoria Park, and the west entrance to High Level Bridge on 109th Street.
Several other spots around the Edmonton area will be putting on fireworks show to celebrate Canada’s birthday, including Mill Woods Park at 11 p.m., Fort Saskatchewan at 10:45 p.m., the City of Leduc at 11 p.m., the City of St. Albert at 11 p.m. and the City of Spruce Grove at 11 p.m.

Calgary

In Calgary, fireworks are tentatively scheduled for Canada Day around 11 p.m. at Stampede Park. However, the city says  it is considering the impact the current water shortage may have on celebrations.
There are plenty of places surrounding Calgary where people can go to catch a fireworks show, including Airdrie’s Chinook Winds Regional Park at 10:45 p.m., the Town of Cochrane at 10:45 p.m., and Okotoks at 10:30 p.m.

Vancouver

While there will not be a fireworks show to wrap up the Canada Day celebrations at Canada Place in Vancouver, several other cities in the Lower Mainland will be hosting pyrotechnic displays, including Burnaby at 10:15 p.m., Abbotsford at 10 p.m., White Rock at 10:15 p.m., and Port Coquitlam just before 10 p.m. The Township of Langley will have a drone light show lighting up the sky with a variety of colours and designs. It’s set to begin at 10:15 p.m.
