A translator became emotional during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s speech to the European Parliament on Tuesday.
Zelensky spoke via video link from Kyiv during an emergency session of the European Parliament in Brussels.
European Union lawmakers—many wearing “stand with Ukraine” T-shirts bearing the Ukrainian flag, others with blue-and-yellow scarves or ribbons—listened to Zelensky’s passionate speech.
The Ukrainian leader said 16 children were killed on Monday in Russian attacks across his country.
Zelensky has remained in Ukraine’s capital to rally his people against the invasion. As he spoke on Tuesday, a Russian armored column was bearing down on Ukraine’s capital.
