The triple shooting incident near Toronto’s Fairview Mall on March 20 left a 21-year-old male dead, while two others were injured, according to the Toronto Police Service (TPS).

In a statement, TPS identified the deceased victim as Madar Hassan of Toronto, who was pronounced dead after being transported to hospital. The other victims are two 25-year-old males, who have both been transported to hospital. Police said one of them is suffering from life-threatening injuries while the other sustained non-fatal wounds.
The shooting occurred at approximately 4:11 p.m., at the mall located in the area of Sheppard Avenue East and Don Mills Road. TPS said in an earlier statement that when they arrived at the scene, two of the shooting victims were found in the mall’s underground parking lot.

Police have not yet identified the suspect and the investigation is ongoing.

TPS’s Homicide and Missing Persons Unit has taken over the investigation. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist with the investigation.

The fatal shooting is the second firearms-related incident reported near the Toronto mall in recent weeks. On Feb. 23, TPS responded to a shooting near Fairview Mall’s underground parking area. The police said in a statement at the time that a firearm was discharged and caused damage to a nearby vehicle. No one was injured in that incident.
