The Metropolitan Police said two cars were driving along Railton Road, Brixton, when one of them collided with a moped and several parked cars. The moped rider was killed.
A man got out of the crashed car and was chased by a gunman from the second car who shot and killed him, before returning to his vehicle and driving off.
The Epoch Times understands one of those who was killed was a drill rapper linked to the Clapham Town (CT) gang in south London.
The other victim, a 21-year-old moped rider, was delivering his last order of the night in Railton Road, Brixton, just before 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Delivery driver Paulo Silva, 42, described his colleague as a “good boy” and said he had been planning to visit Brazil in December.
The scene was still cordoned off by police on Monday morning but a moped lay in the street and a silver car, which had its front smashed, was evidence of the previous night’s mayhem.
That was a clash between Brixton’s 150 gang and the All ‘Bout Money gang from Stockwell.
Sources have told The Epoch Times that Sunday night’s incident was linked to a dispute between the CT gang and the 67 gang from Stockwell.
In September Chris Kaba, a rapper and member of the 67 drill crew, was shot dead by police in Streatham, south London.
The Epoch Times has seen a video in which the rapper who was killed on Sunday night offered to lay aside the “beef” between CT and 67 as a mark of solidarity in the black community.
In the Snapchat video he said: “If the opps are on rioting, I’m rioting with you lot. They can’t lick down the black man, even though he was going to get lick down anyway.”
But a source told The Epoch Times members of 67 thought the video was “disrespectful,” although it is not clear if that was the motive for Sunday’s shooting.
It is the second time in less than a week that there has been a double gun murder in London.
Last week Saydi Abu Sheikh, 23, and Zakariya Jeilani Mohamed, 32, were shot dead in Ilford, east London. A third man was critically injured.
Abu Sheikh was better known as Giddy, a drill rapper with the Ilford-based Drillford gang.
There have now been seven gun murders in London since July 19 but prior to that date there had been none since Oct. 31, 2021.
