A paedophile has been found dead in prison shortly after being jailed for abusing a six-year-old boy.
Daniel Davey, 22, sexually abused the boy, who was aged five and six at the time, between 2015 and 2016.
The Ministry of Justice told the paper that Davey’s death would be investigated.
An inquest into his death heard that the abuse was uncovered after Davey’s victim told his mother he wanted to tell her “something dirty”, the Mail reported.
Davey’s girlfriend described how she had seen an image on Davey’s computer of a child around the age of 13 being sexually abused, the Express reported.
Davey told her he had been sent it by someone as a joke. He no longer had the computer when he was arrested, according to the Mail.
He denied the charges of sexual assault of a child but was found guilty of two charges and ordered by the court to register as a sex offender.
A restraining order was also put in place to protect his victim.
