Nearly $67 Million Worth of Jewelry Stolen From Tamara Ecclestone, Daughter of Former Formula One Boss

About $67 million worth of jewelry were stolen from Tamara Ecclestone, 35, daughter of the former head of Formula One, Bernie Ecclestone.

The Sun reported that she had just left for her Christmas holidays on Dec. 13, when her mansion was raided within hours by burglars.

“I can sadly confirm there has been a home invasion at the Ecclestone-Rutland family home,” a family spokesperson said. “Internal security are cooperating with police in this matter. Tamara and family are well but obviously angry and shaken by the incident.”

There are reportedly guards in Ecclestone’s mansion at all times, plus 24-hour-a-day patrols on the prestigious street, Kensington Palace Gardens, which is known colloquially as “Billionaire Row.”

Ecclestone’s father suspects the robbery was a conspiracy: “I don’t have all the facts but given all the security at the house, I’m assuming it was an inside job,” Bernie Ecclestone told MailOnline. “The police should be able to work it out, shouldn’t they?”

“An estimated £50 million worth of jewellery has been stolen from inside Tamara’s safe and Jay’s safe,” a source told The Sun.

“Whoever did this was in the house for 50 minutes in total and had time to smash open the safes that are hidden in Tamara’s dressing room and Jay’s dressing room. Neither would be easy to find,” the source said.

A London Metropolitan Police spokeswoman told The Sun: “Police were called to a residential property in Palace Green, W8, at 23.11hrs on Friday, 13 December, to reports of a burglary. Officers attended. It was reported that an amount of high-value jewellery had been stolen. There have been no arrests. Enquiries continue.”
