Fox News journalist Benjamin Hall, who was injured in Ukraine, is recovering after several surgeries at a military medical facility in Texas, the company’s CEO confirmed on Friday.
“BAMC is a premier military medical facility and Ben is receiving excellent care while he continues to recover from his serious injuries after multiple surgeries,” she continued in her statement, which was released more than a week after Hall was injured in an attack near Kyiv.
Ukrainian officials alleged that Russian forces were responsible for the attack, which also left a Fox News cameraman and a consultant dead. Oleksandra “Sasha” Kuvshinova and cameraman Pierre Zakrzewski were later confirmed to have been slain in the incident.
“We are in close contact with Ben and his family, and he remains in good spirits despite everything he has endured. His strength and resiliency in the face of this crisis has been nothing short of extraordinary,” Scott also said Friday. “Please continue to keep him in your prayers and we will provide further updates as needed.”
Tens of thousands of people have left besieged Mariupol in the past week, most of them driving out in private cars through dozens of Russian checkpoints.
Russia’s military on Friday also claimed it destroyed a massive Ukrainian fuel base used to supply the Kyiv region’s defenses, with ships firing a salvo of cruise missiles, according to the Interfax news agency. Videos on social media showed an enormous fireball near the capital.
