Chinese defector Chen Yonglin has revealed that during two international incidents, Beijing was able to steal U.S. technology that led to major breakthroughs in its military development.

“One is the year [of] the U.S.-led NATO bombing of the Chinese Embassy in Yugoslavia,” he told a panel following the screening of The Epoch Times’ investigative film, The Final War—A 100-Year Plot to Defeat America in Sydney.

“China sent a special plane to Yugoslavia to take back the engines of the plane … Also, one of the bombs did not explode. They took that back. That’s a breakthrough for China.

“I was told that it saved 30 years of time to catch up with the United States.”

Chen said the second major incident was the Hainan Island incident in 2001, where Chinese jets collided with a U.S. surveillance plane.

“The Chinese pilot intentionally crushed the EP-3 of the United States. They prepared everything when the plane was forced to land. The American pilots have no time to destroy the engine and all its information. That’s another breakthrough for China,” he said.

Chen’s comments come as The Final War revealed the hidden stories behind U.S.–China relations over the past 70 years and follows The Epoch Times award-winning investigative journalist Joshua Philipp and retired U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Robert Spalding in their analysis of Beijing’s true motives for the world.

CCP Waging Secret War Against the West

Special guest from the United States, Sean Xiaoxu Lin, a U.S. Army veteran and microbiologist, said the CCP had been waging “unrestricted warfare” against the West for decades.

“They’re using a series of tactics in different domains,” Lin said. “It can be political, economic, legal, financial. It can be a disinformation war; It can be a biotechnical war so that every aspect of society can be utilised as a tool.”

Talking about the COVID-19 pandemic during the past three years, Lin said it is also part of the CCP’s unrestricted warfare strategy.

“The CCP realised if the virus spreads to different parts of the world if the economy and social order in different countries is all being severely harmed or destroyed, it’s a great opportunity for the [Chinese] Communist Party to have a great reset to set up a new world order,” he said.

“So this time, from a certain perspective, the CCP has already reached its goal. They have already severely harmed society globally, and at the same time, they push out their Chinese model of how they deal with pandemic control: the zero-Covid policies, the lockdowns, the restraints, the mandates.

“Many Western societies are buying their tactics to use mandates to control their societies in this way.”

Lin said he was very encouraged when Australia led the effort in 2020 to ask for an independent investigation of COVID-19.

“I think actually it’s a great time to think about a whole-of-government approach to deal with the comprehensive threat from the CCP’s unrestricted warfare against the whole world,” he said.

Australia Sitting by and Watching as Beijing Extends Hand Over Solomons

Fellow panellist Lincoln Parker, chair of the Defence and National Security Policy Branch of the Liberal Party warned of the CCP’s ambitions in the Pacific while pointing to the situation in the Solomon Islands.
“Eighty years ago … U.S. Marines died fighting the enemy to try and liberate Guadalcanal, which is the main island in the Solomon Islands. Now that geography hasn’t changed, and the strategic importance of Solomon Islands has not changed either,” Parker said.

“It is a key blocking island chain that prevents both Australia and the United States forces in the region from heading up north, in our case, in order to trade or even to come to the aid of Taiwan or anybody else.”

In 2019, Solomon Islands Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare decided to switch diplomatic ties from Taiwan to Beijing.

“That should have been a wake-up call, right then,” warned Parker. “It seems it wasn’t. It’s only gotten a whole lot worse since then, and none of our governments seems to have done very much at all.”

He further mentioned that Daniel Suidani, the premier of the nation’s most populous Malaita Province, was the “one hold-out politician” and “fervent backer of the West” had ousted from power.

“The one ally that the West had in the Solomon Islands is now gone,” Parker said.

“They’ve already got a deal now to put a bunch of Huawei communication towers all across the Solomon Islands. They’re using their airstrips. They want to build more airstrips and, indeed a deep-water port that puts Australia in direct danger.

“I’m really unsure as to why the Australian government has done very little.”
