Yelp Canada has shared some of the top places to eat across the country based on votes from platform users.
First place went to Chen Chen’s Nashville Hot Chicken in Toronto, located in Queen West. This mom-and-pop restaurant focuses on serving some of the spiciest chicken in the city. Orders can be made for delivery, take out, or to eat on the restaurant’s pet-friendly patio. Yelp reviewers raved about the tenders, fries, and sides, and the Szechuan spicy chicken sandwich.
Chen Chen’s, which features fried chicken, mac n' cheese and southern comfort food, earned four and a half stars on the Yelp platform with 68 reviews.
In second place is Quebec City’s Buvette Scott, a bistro that serves up some delicious bites in the Saint-Jean Baptiste district. The spot received five stars in the majority of the 177 reviews. Some of the dishes include oysters, duck ham, and trout. The bistro has also been previously voted as a top place to eat in Canada by the Yelp audience.
Placing third was Vancouver’s Lebanese stop, Manoush’eh, with many of the 240 reviewers giving it five stars. The name is based on a national pie from the Levant, the Eastern Mediterranean region of West Asia. Manoush’eh is a flatbread that is topped with herbs, seasonings, meat, cheese or sweet treats, the restaurant website says. It can be eaten on-the-go, or with meals during the day.
Grandma Loves You in Toronto placed fourth with its European eats, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The bakery has been on the top 100 list before, Yelp said.
“Our bakery is filled with everything from homemade vegan cakes and freshly made sandwiches, to baguettes and shakes,” owners posted on Yelp.
The eatery also offers delivery and pickup services of all its dessert and lunch options.
Toronto’s New Orleans Seafood and Steakhouse, which has also made the list for several years, rounded out the top five. The restaurant offers seafood, steaks, and pasta, and customers loved the atmosphere.
