Canada’s COVID-19 Cases Surge Past 19,000 With 435 Deaths

TORONTO—Canada’s confirmed cases of COVID-19 jumped to almost 19,000 on Wednesday, with more than 430 deaths ascribed to the raging global pandemic as Quebec became the province with the most fatalities attributed to the disease.

While Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced new measures to offset the economic impact, fresh data indicated Quebec had 175 coronavirus deaths among its 10,000 cases.
