A British woman and a Nepalese man discovered dead in a Sydney apartment in an apparent murder-suicide have been named.
Police believe Gurung killed Blake and are treating the case as a suspected murder-suicide.
Their bodies were found by the landlord who went to check the post, according to the newspaper.
The restaurant owner, Ian Dresner, told ABC that staff were shocked to hear about their former colleague. Dresner described him as a “model employee” who “worked hard, worked long hours” and was polite.
The pair had first met at the Brazilian eatery where Blake was employed for two months as a waitress.
She reportedly left her waitressing job last year to work on a farm in Victoria, before making her fateful return to Sydney on Boxing Day.
Neighbor Scott Haggerty, one of the last people to see the couple together said “they looked happy” and he had never heard any arguments, the Daily Telegraph reported.
The UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office confirmed to news.com.au that it was proving support to the family of a British national who died in NSW.
“Our staff are in contact with the New South Wales police,” a spokesman said.
Her family are reportedly on their way to Sydney from England.
Friends have shared messages of grief on social media after hearing the news of Blake’s death. One of her friends, Rhys James Collington wrote on Facebook: “This has broken my heart into a million pieces.”
