Bodies of Two Unidentified Women Found Stuffed Inside a Freezer in London Home

Scotland Yard officers found bodies of two unidentified women stuffed inside a freezer in a London home on April 26.

While two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder, a missing mother of two is feared to be one of the two dead, reported The Sun.

Police said they got into the apartment on Friday at about 11:45 p.m. following “concerns for the welfare of an occupant.”

Murder detectives are working to identify the two women whose remains were found inside the apartment in London’s East End.

“The bodies are believed to be those of two females. We are working to carry out formal identification and trace next of kin,” a Metropolitan Police Service spokesman said, according to The Sun. The two victims are not reported to be related.

A local resident said the bodies were ‘whole, not cut up’ and police are searching through other homes in the area.

Police arrested a 50-year-old man, Ted Jolly on Monday and another 34-year-old man was taken into custody on Tuesday, reported Daily Mail. The 34-year-old suspect has not been named.

One of the dead is feared to be, Mary Jane Mustafa, 38, a mother of two who has been missing since last May.

Mustafa’s older sister visited the crime scene on Tuesday and confirmed that Mary Jane was friends with Jolly at the time she went missing.

“It’s my baby sister ... I can’t believe she is dead,” Mustafa’s sister told Daily Mail.

Police have started searching Jolly’s home that is about a half mile from where the two bodies were found.

Local residents told media that Mustafa was seen at his home before she went missing. Jolly’s home was called ’the local crack den' and a neighbor said she was seen there regularly.

“A couple of months after she went missing, I asked him where she was, if he'd seen her, and he said, ”We had an argument so I slung her out,” the neighbor said.

Locals have reacted with shock and horror at the murders. Ranford Strachan, 85, who lives in the area of the crime scene told The Sun that the discovery of the bodies in the freezer is “shameful.”

“I want to leave here now ... it’s a disgrace,” he said. “I’ve never seen this place like this,” he said.

On Monday night when Daily Mail contacted Mustafa’s family, they had hopes that she would return and said that police had not contacted them.

“I’ve been looking after her kids now and then, and I took her daughter Christmas shopping to keep her distracted. We just say mum has gone to sort herself out and say she'll be back soon.

“Her daughter has just started secondary school and her son is 19,” said Mustafa’s cousin, Ayse Hussain.

“There is no need to think negative at this point because we still believe she is fine and she will come home,” Hazel Ozulku, Mustafa’s niece wrote on Facebook on Monday.

Ongoing Investigation

The investigation is underway and Scotland Yard said it wouldn’t comment on what the locals said. “The post-mortem examinations will be held in due course,' it said.

“We have borough officers in the area supporting colleagues from the Homicide and Major Crime Command as they investigate the full circumstances,” said Detective Chief Superintendent Richard Tucker.

“A crime scene is in place and we would encourage anyone with information about what may have happened at this premises to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 4303/26APR.” he said.
