After five weeks of not being able to play, golfers were keen to get back on the green.
“[The] phone has not stopped,” Bay Views Golf Course Manager Deion Moore told The Epoch Times on May 12.
“Bookings have opened from the moment Dan Andrews announced us being allowed to play golf again,” Moore said.
Golfers of Sanctuary Lakes Golf Club in Melbourne rushed to book golf rounds just minutes after the premier’s announcement.
“All our members are booked to be back with us over the next few days,” Sanctuary Lakes said in an Instagram post.
“It’s going to be exciting for all to get back on course or to your favourite facility, but we plead with all to follow distancing and hygiene guidelines in place.
“If they’re broken, we face a return to no golf and that’s clearly something we’d all like to avoid,” Newbold said.
