Air Canada will be offering non-stop flights from Ottawa to London’s Heathrow Airport starting in the spring of 2025.
Travellers are able to purchase tickets now for flights starting on March 31, 2025.
“In addition to London being a top global destination, Heathrow is one of the world’s primary global gateways as well as home to Air Canada’s largest international operations,” said Mark Galardo, executive vice president of revenue and network planning at Air Canada.
“With continued demand for visiting friends, relatives, leisure and tourism, as well as supporting business and corporate travel, this route gives customers from both the National Capital Region and abroad direct, convenient international travel options to and from Ottawa,“ he added.
Flights will be leaving Ottawa on Mondays and Thursdays at 6:40 p.m. local time, arriving at 6:30 a.m., and on Wednesdays and Saturdays leaving at 8:55 p.m. and arriving at 8:35 a.m.
Return flights from London depart on Mondays and Thursdays at 2:05 p.m., arriving at 4:35 p.m. and on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 12:40 p.m., arriving at 3:20 p.m.
Air Canada will operate the flights from March 31 to October 25, 2025, the release says.
Passengers will be flying aboard the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which offers three cabin choices:
- Signature Class, offering individual pods where passengers can lie flat during the flight,
- Premium Economy, with larger seats and extra legroom
- Economy, with complimentary meals, wines and beverages
“It will make it easier for residents to travel abroad, tourists to visit Ottawa, and businesses to launch and expand in our city,” he said in the release.
Year-found flights to Calgary and Winnipeg, as well as additional capacity to Halifax and Quebec City, were included in the announcement.
The airline said it was also adding more flights to destinations like Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, Orlando, Cancun, and Punta Cana during the winter months.
