A 3-year-old girl who was rescued from a house fire in the United Kingdom has died, according to local media reports.

Lia Pearson’s three siblings died in the house fire on Monday morning, according to the BBC.

She died in the hospital on Wednesday after the fire left her critically injured. It broke out Walkden, Salford, on Monday.

The mother Michelle, 35, remains under sedation in a hospital.

Demi, 15, died at the scene of the fire, and her 8-year-old brother, Brandon, and 7-year-old sister, Lacie, died in the hospital.

Two people were charged with the murder of the three children, and they will likely face additional charges now that Lia has died.

Zac Bolland, 23, and Courtney Brierley, 20, both of Worsley, Salford, were charged in their deaths, and they also were charged with arson.

Two 16-year-olds were in the home at the time of the fire, and they managed to escape.

Chief Superintendent Wayne Miller told reporters that the family is “completely devastated.”

He told The Independent, “We now have a much deeper understanding of the devastating events which led to the tragic deaths of three children in Walkden in the early hours of yesterday morning, and have made significant progress in this investigation. We have collected CCTV from the area and now believe this to be a targeted attack on this house.”
