A truck loaded with more than 100 kilograms of cocaine worth an estimated $12 million has been seized by police in Brantford, Ont..

The Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) intercepted a tractor-trailer belonging to a company based in Milton, Ont., on Dec. 4, as it was reentering Canada from the United States through the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor, Ont., according to a news release issued Dec. 9.

“A search of the trailer yielded a seizure of approximately 112 kilograms of cocaine, having a street value of approximately $12 million,” the statement from Brantford police said.

The seizure was a result of a drug investigation led by the Brantford Police Service in early 2021, which was funded by the Ontario government and received assistance from the CBSA and Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario.

As a result of the investigation, the Brantford Police Service said it identified a group of local individuals believed to be involved in trafficking and distributing cocaine throughout the City of Brantford and neighbouring regions.

Two Brampton men, Jugrajpreet Singh and Amrinder Singh, both 22 years old, have been charged with possession for the purpose to traffic and importation of cocaine under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
