A woman who says she was abused by the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein alleges in a new lawsuit that famous psychiatrist Henry Jarecki raped her and other girls.

The woman, who is using the pseudonym Jane 11 because of privacy concerns, is suing Mr. Jarecki for sexual battery, assault, and infliction of emotional distress.

After arriving in the United States in 2010, with travel arranged by a modeling agency, the woman struggled to find work because she was still trying to obtain a work visa, according to the suit. The woman was told about Mr. Epstein, who had connections in the modeling world, and soon met with him at his mansion.

Mr. Epstein promised to help the woman with her modeling career, “so long as she listened to him and followed his express instructions,” the suit states. “Almost immediately, Epstein began sexually abusing Jane Doe 11 and then controlling her life.”

To help ease the emotional distress the woman was experiencing, Mr. Epstein allegedly connected her to Mr. Jarecki, describing him as the best doctor in New York City.

The woman went to an appointment with Mr. Jarecki. The psychiatrist was said to have instructed her to tell him about her life, including negative incidents. He later said he had something to make her happy, and produced an expensive watch.

Mr. Jarecki insisted on giving the woman a tour of his home, according to the suit. She protested but eventually gave in. She was allegedly raped during the tour.

The woman said she relayed what happened to Mr. Epstein, who said he had a deal with Mr. Jarecki and told the woman she must continue to see the psychiatrist.

The next time the woman saw Mr. Jarecki, she says he told her he knew about Mr. Epstein abusing women and said “that he would save her from Epstein,” according to the suit.

The woman, feeling pressured due to her immigration status, “then transitioned from being sexually trafficked by Epstein to sexually abused and trafficked by Jarecki,” the suit states.

Mr. Jarecki’s control of the woman allegedly included moving her into his apartment, telling her she had to answer a landline phone whenever it rang or be punished, and bragging that he had access to cameras at the front of the building so she could not leave without being seen. Mr. Jarecki then allegedly raped the woman repeatedly in the apartment, and later forced her to have sex with other men.

The situation lasted from 2011 through December 2014, according to the suit.

The woman ended contact with Mr. Jarecki because “she could not handle the emotional distress she was suffering, even though Jarecki promised her that her life would collapse if she tried to have a life without being under his control,” according to the suit.

The woman, who is seeking damages, is being represented by Bradley Edwards and David Boies, who have successfully represented other women in suits against Mr. Epstein and others.

Mr. Edwards declined to elaborate further on Monday’s lawsuit, which was filed in federal court in New York, but said “we want other survivors to know that it is safe to come forward.”

“The allegations will be shown to be entirely false and baseless,” said Sarita Kedia, a lawyer for 91-year-old Mr. Jarecki. “Dr. Jarecki never engaged in any abusive conduct with the complainant or any other person.”

Mr. Jarecki, of Rye, New York, is the latest of many people sued over their ties to Mr. Epstein, who was a registered sex offender.

Mr. Jarecki is a longtime Yale University faculty member whose works include the book “Modern Psychiatric Treatment.” He was in Mr. Epstein’s public address book, although the new suit appears to be the first over their relationship.

Mr. Epstein died in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. The death was ruled a suicide by a medical examiner.
