Woman Smacks Staff With Takeout Bag After Getting ‘Upset’ With Sandwich

Police in Washington state are trying to track down an unknown woman who allegedly smacked a restaurant worker in the face with her takeout bag after getting “upset about a sandwich.”

Kennewick Police Department released CCTV stills showing the woman reaching over the counter, apparently hitting the restaurant employee.

The restaurant staff said the woman had ordered a sandwich at the restaurant drive-thru, according to police, but had become upset about a sandwich.

“The victim said that the female entered the location and was verbally aggressive towards her before reaching over the counter and allegedly striking her in the side of the face with the bag of food she was carrying,“ said the police statement. ”The victim was not injured and does not know the suspect.”

The woman is facing possible assault charges.

Police have not named the restaurant where the incident occurred.

The police posted the CCTV footage to Facebook, hoping to enlist the local community in tracking her down.

“We’d like to remind her that assaulting someone for not making your sandwich correctly is not okay.”

The police department’s Facebook appeal certainly generated local interest, with over 300 comments and 500 shares.

“It is so disgraceful how people treat others especially in the food industry,” wrote one person. “I hope this woman is embarrassed by her actions and learns she can not put her hands on others or use violence in this manner.”

Some people said that this kind of thing comes with the territory in the fast food industry.

“I worked in a fast food place once, and apparently the chocolate milk this lady ordered was not cold enough, so she screamed at me and as soon as I turned around I saw the carton of milk flying towards me across the room.”

Others couldn’t resist commenting on the woman’s appearance.

“She looks like she was ready to come eat somebody, my hell! Who could ever prepare for someone like this? Maybe fast food workers have to start training for these looneys. Mace would do the trick! Oh wait, she'd probably find a way to sue. WTH is wrong with people?”

A Spate of Food Attacks Confounds Florida Deputies

Two weeks ago, deputies in Florida said they had arrested a man for slapping his girlfriend with a cheeseburger.

“Thirty-year-old Kyle Jamison Jones wanted it his way,” wrote Martin County Sheriff’s Office in a statement on Facebook on May 14. “When he didn’t get it, things between him and his girlfriend escalated.”

Jones’s live-in girlfriend, who was not named in the report, said that he had abruptly woken her up by slapping her in the face with a cheeseburger, according to the sheriff’s office.

Jones then allegedly pulled her hair and kicked her down the stairs.

Earlier this year, Florida deputies in Pasco County had been left confounded by a string of domestic food attack cases, reported Patch, with cookies, frozen pork chops, and pizzas being weaponized in the heat of the moment.

Deputies say the reason could be simply that many arguments start in the kitchen, where food items are at hand.
