A woman from Georgia has been charged in two counties for allegedly practicing dentistry without a license.
Szewczyk allegedly posed as a dentist for at least seven years through her dental administration business called County Dental Providers, which began in Dallas in Paulding County in 2011.
According to the Georgia Department of Community Health, Georgia Composite Medical Board and Secretary of State’s Office, licensed dentists are allowed to practice in the office of dental administration businesses, but Szewczyk was not a licensed dentist, the AJC reported.
But “unfortunately, it appears from our dates, she did not abide by the terms of the pre-trial agreement,” Paulding’s Senior Assistant District Attorney Matthew Rollins told AJC.
In 2017, Szewczyk closed her business in Paulding County and re-opened it in Marietta, Cobb County.
Rollins said that there are at least 18 victims, some of them with damaged teeth, WSB-TV reported.
The lead investigator said that it is likely more charges will be filed.
