ANAHEIM, Calif.—A woman was killed Feb. 19 when a tree fell onto an SUV in which she was sitting at an Anaheim park.
The tree toppled at 2:50 p.m. when the woman was parked on the south side of Pearson Park, at 400 N. Harbor Boulevard, said Anaheim police Sgt. Jon McClintock.
Anaheim police officers and firefighters worked to free the woman from the vehicle in hopes of saving her life but she was pronounced dead at the scene, McClintock said. No other injuries were reported.
An investigation was underway to determine why the tree fell, he said.
